The Friends of Delapre Abbey in partnership with Delapre Abbey Preservation Trust and Northampton Borough Council run a programme of Community based Educational, Historical and Leisure events throughout the year, all designed to engage with the local and wider community.

Woodland Sessions - Sat 18th, 25th May, 1st, 15th June - 3pm - 4pm

Join us with your children to explore Delapre's woodland - walking, exploring, art activities, insect hunting, story telling, den building and camp fires! Local and Community History Weekend - 25th and 26th May

Join us at Delapre for a celebration of local and community history with displays and information from many local groups and societies in the county. there will be a programme of talks, lectures and workshops alongside tours of the abbey and activities for children. Free admission. Friends Of Delapre Abbey Magnificent Midsummer Fete - Saturday 22nd June 12 noon to 4 pm (and evening event too!)

A traditional feel fete on the South Lawn at Delapre Abbey with marquee, craft and community stalls and family entertainment.

A wonderful evening event is planned too with live music, fantastic food and a special lighting show - more details soon!

Delapre Abbey Creepy-Crawly Day - Sunday 30th June

Get up close and personal with us here at Delapre as part of National Insect week. Make friends with a whole range of creepy crawlies from spiders and coachroaches to snails and snakes, enjoy a bug hunt in the park grounds and get creative with some mini-beast crafts.

Hands-on fun for the whole family. Charge to cover costs.
 

Battle of Northampton - Saturday 6th July

A special event to mark the anniversary of the Battle of Northampton 1460; one of the most fundamental battles of the Wars of the Roses.

Hands-on activities for children and families, battlefield walks and talks, re-enactors to demonstrate medieval warfare.

More than Just a House - A Perambulation of the Delapre Abbey Estate - Sunday 11th August

Join the Friends of Delapre Abbey for a guided walk around the Delapre Abbey estate and learn a little of its hstory on the way. suitable for adults and families we hope that people will be sponsored to take part to raise funds for our restoration work.

The Abbey will be opening its doors once again as part of the national Heritage Open Days. guided tours, displays, conservation and herigae demos and workshops.

Join us for a weekend of Abbey tours with a difference - the aim is to provide some new and different ways of looking at the Abbey and inviting local peole to share their memories and stories of Delapre Abbey.
 

Seed Gathering Day - Thursday 31st October

Join the Friends of Delapre Abbey and the Park Ranger to collect seeds from the trees and plants at Delapre, tree walks and hands-on activities for children and families.
 

Delapre Abbey Photography Exhibition - 2nd to the 9th November

A chance for all photographers - young or old, amateur or professional to share their images of Delapre in an exhibition. Visitors to the exhibition will be invited to select their favourite images for use in our planned 2014  Delapre Abbey calendar.
