Below is printed in full a letter received today from a friend of the charity who wished to pass on his thoughts after a recent visit.
"For those of you who have yet to visit one of Northampton's hidden gems, let me introduce you to Delapre Abbey. A long drive down the avenue of trees brings you to the front of the Abbey that this year is celebrating 550-years since the Battle of Northampton. Don't worry there is plenty of parking!.
As you wander through the Tea-Room you enter the beautiful enclosed walled garden, an ideal stop for Tea/Coffee and delicious Home made cakes!.
Walk on through to the wood on the other side of the gardens, it's filled with various trees and shrubs and you will be met with a stunning profusion of snowdrops! scattered all through the wooded area.
As an occasional volunteer it's alwas a pleasure to serve and make your visit a memorable one and I'm sure you will visit time and again. Children with their mums and families are very welcome as are owners with their dogs.
The Tea-Rooms are open 7 days a week, 10-5pm. Look out for the functions and celebrations on-going throughout the year."
Yours sincerely
